A sudden cold front brought the first snow of the season to Montana this October. Warnings and advisories remained in effect while the system impacted the region. The ice led to crashes and held up commuters. Skiers found early-season powder after the storm and shared clips of the conditions online. One dog showed strangely to the white flakes. Sunshine returned to the area as temperatures gradually warmed. The event marks the beginning of cold season for the state.
