Hundreds of mourners filled St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who died in a car crash while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective wept while testifying while recalling the discovery of victims. The moment drew a reaction from those present. Separately, hundreds gathered at Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The gathering stood in solidarity as the occasion was marked across the city.
